Yellow Umbrella Events
I always say that I’m like the plumber’s wife – while the paying customers get their toilet fixed, my house is full of leaking faucets. And by this I mean that my website is always the last to get updated! While we tinker with it constantly – adding blogs, adjusting copy here and there, and making general tweaks to increase SEO – we haven’t had a new website for our planning business in over 2 years. And in our world, that’s long overdue!
We wanted our new website to reflect us in a more directed way. Shea and I would prefer to only work at a couple of local venues and do private property and destination weddings so we decided to have our website talk specifically to just those couples that wanted to work at those venues or who were having the type of wedding we prefer to work with. We even changed our service packages to specifically appeal to just those couples and those venue types.
We wanted a very clean and modern looking site that was super easy to navigate and appealed to a very small segment of the wedding planning market.
Though we are still making minor tweaks like re formatting the old blogs into the new site and adding portfolio images, we went live with the site anyway. And I would advise others to follow my lead. Sometimes it doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect before you release it. If that we’re the case we would never have the iPhone. There’s a reason there are 5 versions of it – each new release makes the product better and better!
