Caught you!
Last year I came across a really great use for Google Images! I was looking for similar colors and pictures for one of my blog posts when I entered one of my own pictures into the Google Images page and the results returned my image – but from someone else’s website – uh…wait, what??
So I went on a little investigative journey that lead to me finding that another person/blog had used my images on their site and taken credit for my work! I was less than thrilled, as you can imagine. This then sent me on a crazy path of obsessively uploading tons and tons of pictures and tracking down their locations!
You’ve been warned – once you start you may lose an entire afternoon!!
One more great thing you can use Google Images for – if you find a picture on Pinterest and can’t seem to figure out the actual owner/photographer of the pic, this can help you get straight to the source.
Likewise, my photographer friends can now use this tool to find those that are stealing their images and posting them as their own!
Still have no idea what I’m talking about?? Try it out!
Go to http://www.google.com/imghp and click on the little camera icon in the search box. This will prompt you to upload an image.
I’d love to know what you find!
